Kurt A. Israelsen is a Certified Tax Preparer located in Escondido, CA. His goal is to help clients pay the minimum amount of tax possible and resolve difficulties with the IRS and state tax agencies. Other staff assist as needed.
Areas of practice include filing 1040 individual tax returns, 1065 partnership returns, 1120 C Corporation returns, 1120 S Corporation returns, state returns (any state in the US), incorporation, student financial aid, and assisting not for profit organizations. Common situations covered include self employment, rental properties, multiple states, investments, corporations, high income, and multiple jobs. Recent accomplishments include tax preparation for Tech Coast Angels, the largest Angel Investing Group in the west, amending 4 years of previous taxes and helping them to receive thousands in refunds.
Mr. Israelsen’s dedication to keeping up to date on tax law includes enrollment in continuing education courses, annual proficiency examinations, as well as frequent study of IRS Publications and other tax law information throughout the year. Every week, with few exceptions, he takes time out of his work schedule to review tax law, so that he can better serve his clients. He has also received recognition from the National Society of Accountants.
Although a supporter of his country, during his studies he has often been disappointed while reflecting on how much tax Americans pay—income tax, social security tax, sales tax, excise tax, inheritance tax, etc. After working for both a law firm and a CPA firm he started his own practice with the goal of helping taxpayers save money.
Mr. Israelsen offers free reviews of previous year’s returns, often finding credits or deductions that were overlooked. If the statute of limitations has not past, he offers his services of amending those returns, claiming the refunds due and helping the client prepare for the maximum tax benefits in the upcoming year.
Cost of services starts around $70 for the most simple returns, and around $250 for those with more complex situations. Extra forms typically add $20 - $50 each on top of those prices, and free estimates are available upon request. Payment methods include cash, check, credit card, paypal, and venmo.
